A tropical hardwood sometimes called Lancewood. Primarily from the Caribbean, though present in Central and South America as well.
The sapwood is a pale yellow colour and is commonly used in the making of fishing rods, pool cues and archery bows.
The timber used comes from reputable timber merchants or are off-cuts from various sources.
